Letter to a Mental Health ProfessionalWe are writing to inform you that there is a 12-step recovery meeting for those who have been affected by someone else’s compulsive sexual behavior. We wanted you to know about another resource that may be of use to some of your patients. COSA is a 12-step fellowship for those who have been affected by someone else’s compulsive sexual behavior. The group supports those who are working a journey of recovery from sexual codependency, also known as co-sex addiction. COSA follows the 12 steps and 12 traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). These steps have helped COSA members become aware of their own codependent behaviors in relationships with friends, family member and partners. Admission to ourselves allows us to acknowledge our own patterns in addictions and sexual codependency.
COSA is NOT a therapy group, nor is it designed to replace therapy. It is a 12-step program that, for some members, encourages them to follow through with honesty while working with a therapist. By using the program in this way, we have found we are not alone. We would like to urge those who are unfamiliar with COSA to write or call for further information and encouragement.
The group meets on: (day of week) at: (time) For more information, see our homepage on the Internet at: www.cosa-recovery.org, or e-mail for information at: info@cosarecovery.org
Thank you very much for your help.
