Ila attended her first COSA support group in September of 1988. Pat C. once shared “No matter how far down the road you have gone, you are still the same distance from the ditch”. As per our theme, even though I prefer to stay in the sunshine of recovery, I have allowed myself to be buried in the sand. My only tool for getting out of the sand and back into the sunshine has been continued support group attendance and referring to the steps to guide me though every challenge.
