Kathy D. is both a sex addict and a COSA. She grew up in a family with multiple addictions, as well as multiple forms of abuse. She was numbed out in her relationships, and was not able to say when her boundaries were broken. When she came into COSA, she learned to feel and accept her feelings. She found that it was helpful to consistently go to the same meetings, so that the people at those meetings could care for her. Through meditation and journaling, she learned to feel safe spending time alone.
