Paul M.J.’s technical training left no room for spirituality. However, 15 years ago when Paul disclosed to his partner the details of his multiple emotional and physical affairs over the course of their six-year marriage, he despaired that he and his wife would never reach their seventh anniversary. He joined SAA in 2003 desperate to have the group help him to hold onto his marriage. What he learned by working the Twelve Steps, however, was that without a spiritual foundation to his life, he would be unable to manage any relationship. It turned out that the relationship he needed to work on most was the one with a higher power, and that Higher Power would manage the rest.
