2024 Conventions

31st Annual COSA Conventions

The What, Where, and When of the 2024 COSA Conventions:

Again this year, the ISO of COSA is carrying the message by organizing the virtual convention in February and the in-person convention in June. Our members convene and share recovery through speakers in long-time recovery, workshop presenters on tools of the program, and panel speakers on topics near and dear to the hearts of recovering COSAs.

Strengthen your heart and recovery by attending both conventions: workshops, panel discussions, tools, and fellowship!

In person registration is now open!

IN PERSON CONVENTION

MAY 31-JUNE 2, 2024 ~ COLUMBUS, OH

Friday Opening Session 7:30 p.m. Ends Sunday 1:00 p.m.

The 2024 Convention Program Committee welcomes you all to attend this annual convention which is scheduled to be held in Columbus, Ohio, May 31 through June 2, 2024.

The convention will commence on Friday with an opening session at 7:30 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. We’ve worked tirelessly to create a rich and diverse program that will cater to a wide range of interests and personal recovery needs. As we approach the convention, we are now seeking additional speakers and presenters. This is an open invitation to all those who wish to share their knowledge, experience, strength, and hope with a wider audience. We are particularly interested in proposals for workshops and featured speaker presentations that align with the themes and topics of our COSA fellowship.

Please see our program draft below:

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

We are reintroducing the COSA Service Scholarship Fund which will provide financial assistance with a registration fee to COSAs on a first-come, first-served basis. COSA service scholarships are funded entirely by fellow COSAs; donations to this fund are greatly appreciated. To apply for a scholarship, register online and follow the instructions provided. Service scholarships require volunteer hours at the convention (4 hour minimum) and are limited. A fee of $50 is required for every registrant requesting a scholarship. This includes an administrative fee of $25 which is nonrefundable if canceled after May 13, 2024.

CAN YOU OR YOUR MEETING GROUP DONATE TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND?

Do you know that the ISO of COSA is run primarily by volunteers? And do you know who runs the annual convention? You guessed it! Volunteers! It’s run by those who serve in COSA, and that means YOU and your fellow COSAs who attend the convention!

Some COSAs need a bit of financial support to attend the convention. They can apply for a scholarship from the Convention Committee. As part of the scholarship program, recipients must volunteer at least four hours of their time working at the convention.

You’ll help a COSA attend the convention and support their vital volunteer work, too! WIN-WIN! For those of you who can’t attend or volunteer, let your money go where you can’t go. Support the efforts we have made to sustain a healthier, more sober COSA and help keep the convention run smoothly by donating to the Scholarship fund, please indicate in Note “Scholarship ” https://cosa-recovery.org/service/donations/. All donations to COSA are tax deductible.

Workshops

Our workshops aim to provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of working a COSA program of recovery. These sessions serve as an opportunity for COSAs to carry the message and for attendees to learn and interact in a more intimate setting. If you have a unique way of applying the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and COSA Program Tools to your own recovery, we encourage you to submit a proposal.

Featured Speakers

As a featured speaker, you will have the opportunity to address a broad audience and share your insights within a face-to-face gathering. Your presentation can inspire, inform, and share your path of COSA recovery as an individual. If you have a compelling story, an innovative use of program tools, or an enlightened perspective of integrating the Twelve Steps, Traditions, and Program Tools with our attendees, we welcome your proposal.
